Does its job. 5-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for Apple iPhone 3G 8GB 16GB [Accessory Export Packaging] Does what it's supposed to do. Simple as that, and if you apply it correctly there shouldn't be any complaints, oh and if your an Itouch user (like myself) it might be a little bigger than an Iphone so I cut off the edges a bit before applying, works fine and is quite un noticeable. The cloth it came with is decent, cleans nicely. ( In this case I used my glasses cleaning cloth since it was more efficient). Well anyway,it works for me so, 5/5. POSTED AT THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2010 827 COMMENTS Great case, bad holster OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Excellent case! My phone has hit the pavement many times without a glitch. My problem is that the holster is the reason my phone keeps hitting the pavement. The phone pops out of the holster way too easily. A case built to protect your phone should come with a holster that will keep your phone where it is suppose to be. My advice is buy the case and ditch the holster. If the Otterbox came with a decent holster 5 stars would be too low but as it is I can only justify 3. POSTED AT MONDAY, MARCH 08, 2010 36 COMMENTS Nice with some drawbacks 5-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Mirror Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for Apple iPhone 3G 8GB 16GB / 3G S 16GB 32GB I received the order in short time. Each screen protector is packed separately with its own lint cloth, which I did not expect at this low price level I saw similar protectors for sale at the cell phone store for $30! It's amazing how much saves you.
As expected, it transforms my iPhone 3G to a big mirror when not in use. This helped avoid confusing my iPhone with my wife's! When you use the iPhone, it lights up and you'd be able to see the screen. Here are the drawbacks: 1) The holes for the speaker and home buttons did not come off easily. The instructions did not specifify whether you should leave them on. But it did not seem like a good idea to leave the speaker covered, so we used a key to push these pieces out. 2) As people have mentioned, it's very hard to see the iPod screen outdoors in bright sunlight with this on. Some suggested turning the brightness up, which might help but will drain your battery quicker. 3) There is a visible rainbow effect which might bother some people while others might find it cool! POSTED AT THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2010 59 COMMENTS Very nice docking station Motorola DROID Multimedia Docking Station This Multimedia docking station is a nice addition to any Droid. I have it set up on my desk at my home office and it keeps in in great position to monitor any incoming messages, email, twitters, etc., all while displaying in multimedia mode and charging the phone at the same time. I bought this along with the car dock and I've been very pleased with both. Between using both on my commute to work and once I get home, I've never had the battery level go below 50% and I would consider myself a fairly heavy user with quite a few applications running. POSTED AT THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2010 116 COMMENTS The best bang for your bucks OtterBox Impact Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) For less than $11, I believe this is the best Iphone case out there. The price however, doesn't reflect the product. The case feels rugged, durable and strong, all opposite of what many might be thinking when they only look at the price. Now obviously you can't really compare this to the Otterbox Defender in terms of protection but The Impact can hold its own. And for only $11, you are getting a lot.
I love this case because it actually covers over the Iphone home button as well. All of the Iphone buttons are very accessible so no worries there. The case is meant for taking some minor drops, bumps and scratches so don't expect it to do more. But once again, for the price, this case is very much worth every dollar. You really can't go wrong with it. POSTED AT WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2010 346 COMMENTS Great sound; quirky user interface Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth Headset Just received this headset and have been using it for a couple of weeks. The sound is great; no quibbles about that. But some other aspects of the design could use improvement. The user interface is inconsistent and hard to master; every single button has multiple functions and they do different things in different situations (when there's no call, when a call is coming in, after a call has been established, when the headset has been out of range of the phone). The chart of functions in the manual is poorly arranged and doesn't group them according to the situations in which they apply, making this headset a challenge to learn.
Audible feedback is also inconsistent. Some of it consists of tones (for example, rising and falling sequences of tones when you turn the headset on and off). There are also a few voice prompts, but only for rare situations (confirmation of muting and unmuting the microphone and low battery warnings during a call). Why not voice prompts for other things? Also, some feedback that really should come via audio (for example, querying the battery level rather than being warned it's running low during a call) comes only via the two-color LED on the back. Why? There's just no rhyme or reason to it. Plantronics really ought to rethink the functions of the controls, prompts, and LEDs to make them more consistent and easier to remember and use. It'd be easy for them to do this as a firmware upgrade, assuming that the electronics inside are flash-able. The headset also has a micro-USB jack for charging (and perhaps for other purposes such as firmware upgrades? The manual doesn't say) which is left open when you're not charging the battery. Since one of the main functions of a Bluetooth headset is to keep your hands free while you work, there should be a plug or a cover for this to keep dirt, dust, and water from getting in. Finally, this is a tough headset to use with glasses. I normally wear contact lenses, but wear sunglasses when I work outdoors (which is exactly when I need the headset). The sunglasses, which are equipped with a cord to keep them around my neck when I take them off, constantly knock the headset out of my ear. (I'm looking at putting a tether on the headset, too, for this reason.) Overall: I love the sound, but now that they've gotten that right, I would really like to see Plantronics pay more attention to other aspects of the design in future models. POSTED AT THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2010 3125 COMMENTS Surprisingly good Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset [Retail Packaging] Bought the first of these unit form my 40 year old son who is an over-the-road truck driver. He had owned a Motorola headset before but it had muffled microphone audio at times and at times was difficult to understand him. He wanted a headset with a very long boom microphone and I bought this unit for him thinking it was what he wanted (Plantronics). It wasn't the unit he wanted, but he was very happy with it. The sound pick up is very natural and very quiet. This is important because in a truck environment, there are lots of other noises. This Voyager provides excellent voice clarity without picking up a lot of background noise. I believe that it has a microphone silensing circuit or VOX circuit in it, because if my son pauses in talking, the mic seems to go completely quiet. I believe that if it is not detecting voice or ambient noise, then it completely cuts off. You start to think that you might have lost the call becasue it get so quiet, but if you ask him something, it turns right back on. Its actually a very nice feature. It is also different because it has the larger behind the ear electronics module. However, he found that this kept it anchored on his ear better than the much smaller Motorola. He liked it so much, and I liked what it sounded like so much that I bought myself one, and I find it to be a very good bluetooth headset. It is very comfortable in the car, which is where I tend to use it. I also find that the ear piece stays in my ear canal much better than the much lighter Motorola did. I really like this Voyager 510 from Plantronics. I find it ideal for my uses. It does fight with an auto-based bluetooth system such as Microsoft SYNC in Ford products and I have found that you have to use one or the other system, but it wont tolerate both.
My one complaint with the Plantronics Voyager is that the on off switch is very tiny and difficult to use (you have to press it 3 seconds to turn the unit on or off), so I leave it on all the time, and turn the bluetooth transmitter in my cell phone on and off rather than trying to do on the Voyager. Great product POSTED AT WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2010 78 COMMENTS Good buy. Skinomi TechSkin - Invisible Screen Protector Shield for Motorola Droid - Plus LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS I was a little nervous after reading the reviews. The skin was well packaged, and the instructions were easy to follow. I shut off my phone, washed my hands, and started. I got the phone's screen wet, my fingers wet, and the skin wet (sticky side). Just like the instructions say to do. Applied skin and moved into place. I had it all smoothed out when I noticed a hair under the skin. Peeled it off and re-soaked every thing. Re-applied. Worked great. The soapy water that's in the bottle is just to keep the skin from sticking long enough to get the air bubbles out. Here's what helped me: two things. 1: when you get the skin on, hold the phone at different angles to make sure that you have all the BIG bubbles out (the tiny ones that sort of look like fog will go away in a day or so). Two: pay close attention to the edges, on the Droid the edge of the screen curves up. You don't want the skin to hang off the edge. It's really pretty easy. Use common sense and take your time! Use plenty of the liquid included, but don't get it into the speaker/mic/etc. of the phone. Let it dry over night, and don't mess with it. The only negative thing I could say is that it's a little too reflective. Maybe a little more than the phone's normal screen. Doesn't seem to effect the "touch" capability of the touch screen, and doesn't seem to scratch very easily. Good buy, good price. POSTED AT THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2010 36 COMMENTS Bought a couple for my Kindle second generation BlackBerry Folding Blade Micro Charger for BlackBerry 8900, Storm 9530, Tour 9630 (Black) The ones I got did have folding blades and were OEM by RIM. The sellers that used for me were The OEM Shop and SFPlanet. I use them for my Kindle 2 (and would work with the Dx model too) and they are perfect, and inexpensive. 1 - 14947 |
